Latest update that provides AU compatibility for both Spatial Mic USB and Spatial Mic Dante as well as various maintenance updates for both Windows and macOS.

Available now in countries worldwide, Spatial Mic Dante & USB are shipping with Spatial Mic Converter Plugin v1.6.5 – an update that includes Audio Unit (AU) compatibility for use with macOS software like Logic Pro.

Voyage Audio has announced Spatial Mic Converter plugin v1.6.5, a new update that includes Audio Unit (AU) compatibility for both Spatial Mic USB and Spatial Mic Dante as well as various maintenance updates for both Windows and macO, and it’s available as a free download.

With Audio Unit (AU) compatibility, the output from the Spatial Mic Converter plugin can be configured for the various surround formats available in Logic Pro, letting the user mix and export recordings as a Dolby Atmos spatial audio file, ready for Apple Music. The Spatial Mic 360° Recording System relies on the Spatial Mic Converter plugin to transform the raw 8 capsule recordings from Spatial Mic USB & Dante into a format suitable for audio production.

“Bringing Spatial Mic compatibility to a DAW like Logic Pro opens up a streamlined workflow to create fully immersive spatial audio mixes using the integrated Dolby Atmos tools,” says Voyage Audio founder Colin Ritchie. “With built-in headtracking, personalized spatial audio and multiple ways to render and listen back to your mix, Logic Pro provides a great entry point for those wanting to step into immersive music, spatial audio podcasting and the future of music production.”

Logic Pro comes with a built-in surround mixer, 3D Object Panner, support for up to 7.1.4 and a suite of pluginins ready to work in Dolby Atmos sessions alongside the Spatial Mic Converter plugin. In addition, a test project created from a concert recorded with Spatial Mic has been made available as a free download that users can employ as a tool to learn how to best use Spatial Mic in Logic Pro.

Spatial Mic Converter is a 64-bit plugin available in Audio Unit, VST3 and AAX format for macOS and Windows. It requires a host capable of multichannel audio tracks like Logic Pro, Reaper, Pro Tools Ultimate or Nuendo. The plugin and demo sessions are available as free downloads on the Voyage Audio website to test system compatibility.
