Lewitt LCT 640 TS Studio Microphone Wins 2018 MIPA Award

Jury of professional trade journalists at Prolight + Sound honor unique microphone with its latest award, in the Recording Hardware category.

The Lewitt LCT 640 TS studio microphone has just been honored with a Musikmesse International Press Award (MIPA) in the category “Recording Hardware.”

The winners of the 19th Annual Musikmesse International Press Awards, chosen by a jury of journalists from over 100 leading magazines worldwide, were announced at a ceremony held during the music trade show Musikmesse and Prolight + Sound.

This MIPA Award is the fourth major prize won by the LCT 640 TS since its launch in late 2016. “It’s a true honor to be recognized by our industry peers for the innovation that the LCT 640 TS represents. Immense care went into its design, and end users are responding with overwhelmingly positive reactions. We thank the voters of the MIPA Awards for this prestigious distinction,” says Lewitt CEO Roman Perschon.

The LCT 640 TS opens the door to a new world of recording techniques. When it’s set to Dual Output Mode, the signals from the mic’s front and rear diaphragm are provided by independent circuitries so that any kind of polar pattern can be realized – even after recording. Previously recorded material can be altered dynamically by adjusting the polar pattern: room sound can be added or decreased, and even a turn by 180° is possible.

After recording with the LCT640 TS, Lewitt’s easy-to-use Polarizer plugin can be used to tweak the material. In Multi-Pattern Mode, the LCT 640 TS has all the characteristics of a multi-pattern studio condenser. Perfect Match Technology ensures that all LCT 640 TS mics have the exact same sensitivity at 1 kHz. Dual Output Mode permits recording in stereo with only one LCT 640 TS, rather than the usual microphone pair. And Clipping History plus four low-cut and pre-attenuation settings round off the list of LCT 640 TS features.

The full list of awards won so far by the LCT640 TS:
• MIPA Award 2018
• Music Tech Choice 2017
• Future Music Gear Of The Year 2016
• Future Music Platinum Award 2016
