China’s Liaoning TV Installs 96-Channel Euphonix System 5 In New Music Recording Studio

This new high-tech recording studio elevates Liaoning TV's music production to the highest level in all of China.

Euphonix announced that Liaoning TV, one of the first five television stations on Mainland China, has installed a 96-channel Euphonix System 5 digital audio mixing system in its newly integrated music recording studio.

This Euphonix installation is in addition to their Euphonix Max Air–equipped OB van that was initially needed for broadcasting the 2008 Olympic Games and is now used for live-to-tape television shows.

“Liaoning TV has always been a pioneer in the broadcasting industry. As an early adopter of digital technology, they selected the dual core Euphonix Max Air digital audio system for their Olympic OB Van because of its stellar reputation for quality and on-air stability, and they were not disappointed. The station had a flawless broadcast of the 2008 Summer Games,” said Jeff Levison, Euphonix Director of International Sales.

“Then, when building their new state-of-the-art recording studio they knew that the versatility and power of Euphonix 5 would guarantee them success,” Levison added.

In 1959, Liaoning TV was founded in Shenyang City, the Capital of Liaoning province. The station has seven public channels, 18 video-on-demand digital channels, 10 digital radio channels and a satellite channel serving an audience of nearly 270 million households throughout China.

Recognizing the inevitable transition from analog to digital broadcasting, in 1999, the station moved to a larger and more modern facility featuring four large multi-purpose studios and nine smaller editing suites. By the end of 2008, a 1,000 square foot TV music recording studio was added.

This new high-tech recording studio elevates Liaoning TV’s music production to the highest level in all of China. The studio features not only the Euphonix System 5, but also Pro Tools digital audio workstations and 5.1 surround sound recording and mixing.

Famed recording engineers Li Mao’mao, Zheng Feng’ri and Cheng Xian’bo, nicknamed the “Golden-triangle group” at Liaoning TV, has recorded programs for well-known stars such as Zhao Ben’shan, Pan Changjiang, Na Ying and Sun Nan in this magnificent studio. The music for the 2009 Chinese Spring Festival Celebration of Liaoning TV was recorded and produced in the studio as well.
