Universal Audio has introduced Volt USB recording interfaces for Mac, PC, iPad and iPhone that are equipped with a Vintage Mic Preamp mode, a built-in 76 Compressor in the 76 models, and a suite of included audio software.
The Vintage Mic Preamp mode is inspired by the mic/line preamp in UA’s 610 tube console, utilizing tube emulation circuitry that’s designed to allow users to dial in rich sound on vocals and instruments. Volt 76 models include a built-in 76 Compressor — an analog circuit based on UA’s 1176 — with presets for adding clarity and punch to voice, guitar, and other sources.
After registering Volt via the UA Connect companion app, users can download audio production software, instruments, and plugin bundles from the following brands:
