EAW Launches New AC6 ADAPTive Column Loudspeaker

Latest addition to the ADAPTive Line, for applications such as houses of worship and smaller performing arts centers, is stated as capable of generating a maximum SPL of 143 dB and 120 degrees of horizontal nominal beamwidth.

Eastern Acoustic Works (EAW) has announced the latest addition to its ADAPTive Line, the new AC6 full-range column loudspeaker that’s stated as capable of generating a maximum SPL of 143 dB and 120 degrees of horizontal nominal beamwidth and targeted at installations such as houses of worship and smaller performing arts centers.

The AC6 is managed via the company’s Resolution 2 software to compensate for coverage and directivity with proprietary Adaptive Performance technology. It’s also equipped with EAW Focusing and DynO digital signal processing designed to foster clear and dynamic sound with a pristine impulse response. It incorporates six low-frequency transducers and 30 high-frequency transducers and has a stated frequency response of 65 Hz to 20 kHz.

“With the ongoing success of our ADAPTive line arrays, we are excited to introduce a loudspeaker equipped with the same powerful DSP toolkit that EAW is known for, but inside a small-format column enclosure,” says TJ Smith, president of Eastern Acoustic Works (EAW). “With the release of the AC6, we affirm our mission in being a driving force of innovation and reliability in the world of live sound.”

An infinite amount of units can be flown as mains or integrated with the larger Anna or Anya line arrays for added coverage possibilities. As with other ADAPTive models, the AC6 is integrated with Dante redundant networking as well as analog redundancy capabilities. It’s available in black or white and is also suitable for outdoor use when input/output weather protection covers are used.
