PreSonus Announces New Revelator io24 USB-C Audio Interface

Integrates mic preamps, a two-channel loopback mixer, and processing in a design for streaming, podcasting, and music production applications.

PreSonus announced that it is shipping the new Revelator io24 USB-C audio interface that integrates high-headroom mic preamps, a two-channel loopback mixer, and processing in a design for streaming, podcasting, and music production applications.

The mixer is designed to allow users to quickly record Zoom calls or Skype interviews and add backing tracks and sound effects for podcasts, live stream performances, music production, and more. By engaging the Stream Mix mode with the click of a button, and the mix — analog inputs, loopback channels, reverb, and effects == are routed to the USB output. From there, it can be sent on to the streaming software.

Two analog mic/instrument/line inputs with PreSonus’ XMAX-L microphone preamps can be stereo linked. There are also two balanced 1/4-inch line outputs, a headphone output, professional metering, and very low latency monitoring. Users can record up to 24-bit, 96 kHz audio to the included Studio One Artist or other recording and production software.

The loopback mixer is designed to simplify the adding of backing tracks to live stream performances or conference in a Zoom caller to a podcast. With two dedicated stereo channels for loopback audio on macOS or Windows, users can simultaneously mix and record the audio from two different applications, along with the two analog input channels. Mixes, processing and routing can be remotely controlled with PreSonu’ Universal Control software for macOS, Windows, iPad, and Android tablets. Stream Mix mode turns the Revelator io24 into a highly compact streaming mixer.

Users can also process each input channel with PreSonus Fat Channel DSP, which provides a high-pass filter, 4-band parametric EQ, compressor, gate, and limiter. Apply the detuner, vocoder, ring modulator, filters, and delay to create unique effects. A dedicated reverb bus is designed to allow the addition of “just the right amount” of ambience.

Revelator io24 locally stores two presets per channel, and eight more factory presets can be loaded from Universal Control. Fat Channel processing also is fully editable, so users can create their own presets. Presets are available for each processor to quickly make customized channel settings. Advanced mode presents a fully editable Fat Channel, complete with State-Space-modeled vintage processors.

Revelator io24 comes with software that includes Studio One Artist and the Studio Magic Suite, which includes Ableton Live Lite, a collection of virtual instruments and effects plugins, and more. Revelator io24 is available immediately for a U.S. street price of $179.95. Go here for more specifics.
