M-Audio has announced the introduction of the BX3BT and BX4BT, two new monitors designed to stream music wirelessly from Bluetooth-enabled devices.
Both the BX3BT and BX4BT are equipped with an onboard amplifier stated to deliver up to 120 watts to transducers that include a military-grade Black Kevlar woofer and a computer-optimized natural silk dome tweeter. A port on the rear of the acoustically inert MDF enclosure is intended to add extended low-frequency response.
The rear panel also offers High-EQ and Low-EQ controls as well as a Left/Right Active Position switch. Connections include 1/4-inch, 1/8-inch, and RCA inputs along with an 1/8-inch aux input and headphone connection on the front panel.
In addition, both models include MPC Beats, a desktop software package DAW for Mac and PC that provides a range of tools for the creation of podcasts, livestreams and music recordings. The software offers musical instrument plugins, effect plugins, and audio and drum samples.
Also onboard are multiple Hybrid 3 world-instrument plugins from sound design company AIR Music Technology, including a polyphonic analogue synth, Mini Grand acoustic piano and Velvet vintage electric piano.
The new BX3BT & BX4BT are available immediately at U.S. retail prices of $129 and $179, respectively.
