iZotope has announced the release of Neutron 4, the latest update to its suite of intelligent audio production plugins in allowing users to sculpt sounds while staying in their creative flow. Eight plugins combine forces through AI-powered assistive audio technology, designed to create a modern and intelligent mixing experience.
Neutron’s Mix Assistant is now modernized into the new Assistant View. The new version listens as soon as the users play audio, producing a reference starting point and taking them to an intelligent control center where they can optimize the sound.
In addition, the Unmask Module is designed to discover and fix masking issues by making space between two competing tracks, balancing bass and kick, or allowing vocals to shine over the mix. With the new Target Library, the tone of a track can be dynamically matched to a sample or stem with assistive tone-matching technology. Neutron 4 also brings back a “slice” of the iZotope plugin Trash, allowing users to distort and destroy audio and discover new extremes.
Also included are utility plugins Visual Mixer and Relay to help the plugins talk to each other, plus Tonal Balance Control 2 to view levels while mix ing. All plugins included with Neutron 4 offer Apple M1 native silicon compatibility.
Meanwhile, the new Music Production Suite 5 Universal Edition welcomes the Neutron 4 mixing suite plus immersive reverbs Stratus 3D and Symphony 3D by Exponential Audio and six new effects plugins from iZotope partner Brainworx. Those who buy or upgrade to the Universal Edition will also receive two product updates in September at no additional cost.
