Austrian Audio has announced the introduction of the OD303, a new dynamic vocal microphone designed to provide high sound quality in a rugged package at an affordable pricepoint.
The OD303 incorporates the company’s proprietary Open Acoustic technology designed to deliver an optimally-shaped supercardioid polar pattern across a wide frequency band and with feedback stability. Due to the open design, the company states that there are only minimal changes in sound and feedback behavior when holding the mic close to the head grille.
In addition, the proprietary 3D pop noise diffuser is designed to reduce noise caused by plosive sounds such as “T” and “P.” The die-cast housing is intended to resist damage from the rigors of the road, and the mic fits comfortably in the hand.
