SoundGirls.org is continuing a crowdsource effort launched a couple of weeks ago to raise much-needed funds in support of pro audio and live sound education. (Go here to contribute.)
It’s another facet of the organization’s mission to inspire and empower the next generation of women by creating a supportive community as well as providing the tools, knowledge, and support to further their careers.
Specifically, the crowdsource funds will go to the 2016 SoundGirls.org Live Sound Camp for Girls, slated for Modesto and Nevada City, CA, with additional dates planned for St. Louis, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Ventura (CA) and Oakland if funding is available.
The camp curriculum has been designed by industry veterans and teaches the skills and technology to run live sound. It is presented in partnership with the Northern California Women’s Music Festival.
