Producer / Artist DV McCoy, one of the Atlanta area’s up-and-coming music figures, recently turned to Guitar Center Professional (GC Pro) to expand and upgrade 21st Century Recording production and mixing studios.
These upgrades would allow DV to open up the facility to other artists and producers in Atlanta’s expanding music scene, helping to support his production company and label Real McCoy Entertainment.
GC Pro Sales Specialist Eugene McNair provided DV all of the equipment he needed, in addition to turning him on to technology that will enhance his own productions and make his new studio, competitive.
Equipment includes an SSL AWS 900+ SE Analog Console, an AVID Pro Tools|HD 3 system and Control|24 mixer, Genelec 1038B Active Monitors, a NeKo XXL software bundle, and much more.
“GC Pro and Eugene have been a blessing to me,” says DV, who works in hip-hop and reggae genres.
“He’s knowledgeable, friendly and fair in his opinions, as is everyone at GC Pro. They’ve always steered me straight.”
McNair stated, “DV was looking to design a room to compete with the major studios in Atlanta without having to spend a fortune in the process.”
“Working closely with him, I was able to put together a system that not only met his budgetary needs, but was right for the clientele he was aiming to attract. He was a pleasure to work with, and we are very proud of this system and to have him as a client.”
DV noted it was McNair who suggested the SSL AWS 900+ console, “People know the name, but they also know that it’s a full console, not just a mixing surface,” he explains.
“It adds plenty of credibility right from the start for the new studio and for me as a business owner. GC Pro is a great company to have in your corner.”
