API (Automated Processes Inc.) has announced the release of the 3122V, a new 2-channel microphone preamp that includes the same circuit design found in the 3124V and 3124MV as well as the 312, 512V, and 512c mic preamps.
“The 3122V fills an important role between the best-selling 4-channel 3124V and the individual API preamps that can be used in a lunchbox or a 500V chassis,” says API president Larry Droppa. “It’s purposely designed for those who require a pair of API mic pres with an expanded feature set, at an attractive price.”
In addition to the combination of 2520 Op Amps and proprietary output transformers, the 3122V also includes front and rear panel XLR and 1/4-inch inputs (selectable on the faceplate), a fixed-frequency HP filter, Gain and Variable Output Level control as well as 48-volt, POL, and PAD. Rounding out the feature set are a 3:1 output transformer tap and two analog VU meters with a separate peak LED.
“Part of the API culture is to listen carefully to our knowledgeable user base in order to determine which new products we should consider offering,” adds API managing director Gordon Smart. “Because we’ve had consistent requests for a two channel, 312-based rackmount solution, we’re convinced the timing is perfect to add the new 3122V to API’s classic lineup of award winning analog gear.”
The 3122V is covered by API’s Five Year Parts, One Year Factory Service Warranty. Units are shipping now.
