64 Audio Launches apex And tia In-Ear Monitor Technologies (Includes Video)

apex designed to relieve pneumatic pressure (air pressure) for enhanced sound quality; tia offers tubeless IEM with frequency-shaping acoustic chambers.

64 Audio has introduced apex in-ear monitoring technology, as well as tia, a tubeless in-ear system.

apex stands for “air pressure exchange,” incorporating a pneumatically interactive vent designed to relieve pneumatic pressure (air pressure) caused by miniature loudspeakers placed in a sealed ear canal. By reducing the pressure, sound quality is enhanced and a wider stereo image is created. In addition, instrument separation is more distinguishable.

The technology is available in the apex-m20 module, specifically designed to fit the proprietary apex socket. The m20 is available as a standard option for the company’s Custom A-Series & Universal Fit U-Series models, and is also backwards compatible with A-Series and U-Series earphones.

Due to the improved design, the m20 module is also easier to install, meaning that it can also be conveniently switched out with other modules for different levels of isolation and “flavors” of sound.

“The m20 module’s design is vastly improved for durability, and is virtually maintenance free,” states 64 Audio founder and CTO Vitaliy Belonozhko. “The vent is intelligently located to prevent debris build up, also significantly minimizing wind noise. Our R&D team has been working diligently to improve upon the previous module, and I’m proud to announce that we have succeeded.”

The company’s director of sales, Chuck Reynolds, adds, “We’ve designed our in-ear monitors with apex to ensure that the 64 Audio brand will inspire and ‘wow’ musicians, studio and live recording engineers, audiophiles, music enthusiasts, and concert goers for years to come.

“We’re also very excited to unveil the new tia system, which is the industry’s first tubeless in-ear monitor design. It features a direct radiating, front-vented driver system with frequency-shaping acoustic chambers that extend depth and frequency response. It also has a built-in passive radiator that enhances bass and reduces the occlusion effect. A product with the tia system will be announced in the fourth quarter of 2016.”
