Yorkville Sound has announced the debut of the YXL10SP, a new 10-inch powered subwoofer that’s the latest addition to the company’s YXL Series that also includes the 15-inch YXL15SP and 18-inch YXL18SP.

The compact YXL10SP measures 18.7 x 12 x 18.2 inches (HxWxD) weighs just over 30 pounds. Onboard class D amplification is stated to deliver 1000 watts peak (500 watts program) in driving the 10-inch woofer (with 2.4-inch voice coil), and it’s accompanied by DSP offering three performance modes — Punch, Smooth and Deep.

Also onboard is a master level control with activity indicator housed in a recessed portion of the rear of the cabinet. Component protection includes multiband excursion, RMS and rail. Stated SPL is 125 dB peak with a frequency response of 50 to 100 Hz (+/-3 dB).

The cabinet is constructed of 12 mm platform, with a metal grille that’s powder coated. There’s a handle for easier transport as well as rubber feet and a stand-mount adapter.

Yorkville vice president of sales and marketing Jeff Cowling states, “The YXL10SP provides an affordable solution to add bass to your live sound without overwhelming the mix in intimate venues – the small club, rehearsal space, or house party. The beer-case-size design makes the YXL10SP a lightweight option for any performer to provide more bass where there is less space.

“The vision for the YXL Series is to provide great sound to musicians and DJ’s in an affordable and durable package,” he continues. “With the subwoofers alone, we have solutions for the small party to the booming nightclub.”
