Waves Audio is now shipping the new Kaleidoscopes plugin, offering a suite of handpicked favorite analog effects from legendary eras – 1960s phasing and tape flanging, 1970s stadium tremolo-guitar vibes, and 1980s chorus.

In addition, the Dual Cascade architecture offers two FX engines “cascade” serially into one another for unique effects or, alternatively, run in parallel for wide soundscapes. On each of the two engines, there’s a selection of waveshapes or any sidechain signal from the DAW session to be the modulation input. Users can also select their performance as the input, allowing their live playing to control the sound in real time and drive the pulsing of the effect.

The Speed, Resonance, Width and Depth of the modulation can be controlled, and there are also filter settings and mix knobs for added versatility. In addition, there’s a choice of five different effect “characters” for different analog flavors, and tempo-sync the modulation effect to the DAW session to help keep things consistent every time a song is re-opened.

The plugin also has intelligent triggers designed to respond dynamically to a musician’s playing in real time. By setting input-sensitive envelopes and adjusting the triggers, users can enable the two effects to “listen” to their playing and respond dynamically, Further, there is an added THRU mode for a stompbox sound, with the dry signal on one channel and the wet signal on the other.

Kaleidoscopes is included in Waves Mercury, Pro Show and SD7 Pro Show bundles. Go here for additional specific information.
