Void Acoustics Launches Bias Q3 Touring Power Amplifier

Latest addition to Bias family offers 4 channels (2000 watts per channel at 4 ohms) joined by onboard DSP and is designed for small to medium live sound and touring applications.

Void Acoustics has announced the introduction of the Bias Q3, a 4-channel DSP power amplifier designed for live sound and touring applications that’s the latest addition to the Bias family.

The Bias Q3 is stated to be capable of delivering 2000 watts per channel when driving 4-ohm loads, increasing to 2300 watts when driven asymmetrically. As with other Bias amplifiers, it integrates with the Armonia Pro Audio Suite that enables extended control via smart phones and tablets. The 1RU chassis measures 19 x 15 x 3.5 inches and weighs 25.4 pounds.

“The new Bias Q3 offers another level of diversity to our amplifier range and we are thrilled to introduce it to market,” states Callum Bowran, applications and support manager for Void. “It’s been designed with versatility in mind and is perfect for a breadth of applications including small- to medium-sized tours and festivals, as well as music venues, clubs and bars. It is also incredibly user-friendly.”

The front panel offers a 4.3-inch touch screen display and rotary encoder for control. Input and output stages incorporate IIR, FIR, IIR+FIR and raised-cosine filters, with limiting that includes peak, RMS voltage, RMS current, and proprietary TruePower. In addition, proprietary Active DampingControl supplies loudspeaker cable loss compensation.

The 4 input channels have analog and digital AES3 link in/out connectors for added flexibility, and there’s also Dante conversion and forwarding of signal distribution. A customizable input backup automatically switches the input source in case of signal failure. Onboard protection circuitry includes over/under AC voltage, clipping, VHF, long-term RMS, thermal, short circuit, and mute at power on/off.

“This is a welcome addition to the range and we’re anticipating high demand for this new amplifier,” concludes Callum.

The Bias Q3 is available to order now. Go here for more specifics about the Bias series.
