Sommer Cable has announced that it is now shipping the SC-Elephant Robust SPM2440, a new 4.0-square-millimeter multicore cable series that’s designed for specifically for large-scale loudspeaker and line array systems.
The cables offer reinforced jacket stability to enhance durability to stand up to the rigors of everyday stage work, including overheating, while the jacket is designed to be flexible and easy to spool. The jacket also has added customized stability for a smoother surface, making it less susceptive to dirt and easier to clean. Sommer’s proprietary wire stranding process is intended to help ensure loss-free transmission.
The outer diameters of the SC-Elephant Robust SPM2440 cable versions are manufactured to enable easy assembly with popular speaker multipin connectors (HI-LK008, NL8, NLT8, LKS25). The interior wires are insulated and numbered.
The 24 x 4.0-square-millimeter version facilitates simultaneous transmission of audio power from up to 12 amplifiers channels. More versions are available.
