Sommer Cable has introduced the new SC-Aqua Marinex, a new universal cable series designed to be rugged and watertight for installation outdoors and in wet areas The company also offers additional connection variants and has developed rodent-proof versions with a built-in braid of aramide fibers, as used in bullet-proof protective vests.
Depending on the connection type, the cables in this new series are suitable for permanent installation under water with a maximum depth of 50 meters (164 feet). A special PUR jacket with water-blocking tape minimizes the intrusion of water and other liquids and stops longitudinal spreading in case of cable damage.
The transversely watertight design is intended to stop water from spreading into the inner insulation layers. Matching connectors in the protection classes IP44 and IP67, as well as ready-assembled versions complete the range. Go here for more specifics.
