Shure has announced the launch of the new Microflex Advance MXA901 conferencing ceiling array microphone that’s available in a low-profile round form factor with a choice of white, black and aluminum finishes, as well as a preview of Designer 6.0 configuration software that has an overhauled workflow and user interface. Both are being highlighted by the company at the 2024 ISE Show in Spain at the Barcelona Fira Gran Via at booth 3N300.

For users integrating multiple Microflex Ecosystem devices, the new Designer 6.0 makes configuration seamless.”
The MXA901 has an unobtrusive 13.5-inch (34-cm) diameter round form factor with six available accessory mounts that are compatibile with most ceiling types, and it’s scalable from small to large meeting spaces with one or multiple arrays. It’s designed with proprietary Single Zone Automatic Coverage technology, stated to cover a 20 x 20-foot space with minimal configuration needed. The onboard IntelliMix DSP includes Automatic Gain Control, Acoustic Echo Cancellation, Noise Reduction and Automatic Mixing.
As with other Microflex Ecosystem devices, the MXA901 employ a multi-faceted approach to networked AV device security that uses industry-standard technologies and workflows that span all Microflex devices in the room. In addition, it’s certified for use with several collaboration platforms, including Microsoft Teams and Zoom Rooms.
Designer 6.0 provides new workflows, an improved user experience, and interface with Dark Mode available for both Mac and Windows platforms. The streamlined design allows users to navigate through different rooms and devices, drag and drop desired system components on the workspace and save-as-room designs to create templates.
In addition, Designer 6.0 design templates can be locally stored or shared for an easier collaboration. The software supports standard-based 802.1x security protocols to manage and storage sensitive data across platforms.
The MXA901 will be available in February 2024 and Designer 6.0 is planned to be available in Spring 2024.
