QSC Debuts New AcousticDesign Column Surface-Mount Loudspeakers

New full-range models offer 70/100V or 8 ohm bypass, with a unique pan/tilt mounting system, and are scheduled to debut at InfoComm 2017 in Orlando.

QSC announces the addition of column surface-mount loudspeakers to its AcousticDesign (AD) Series.

This premium line extension, which will debut at InfoComm 2017, are ideal for a wide variety of foreground and background applications and solves reverberant issues in high-ceiling spaces.

The new AD-S802T has eight 2.5-inch vertically oriented drivers while the AD-S162T has sixteen 2.5-inch vertically oriented drivers; both are 70/100V or 8 ohm bypass, full-range loudspeakers.

They come equipped with a unique pan/tilt mounting system that offers multiple positioning locations, allowing the loudspeaker to remain close to the wall while offering the flexibility to deliver up to a -20° downward tilt. This makes installation even easier and reduces “live load” labor time while on the ladder.

As part of the AcousticDesign Series, the new column surface-mount loudspeakers share a similar sleek unobtrusive design with the rest of the line, which allows them to blend with the aesthetics of any room. In addition, they exhibit the same environmental qualities associated with all AcousticDesign surface-mount models making them ideal for indoor and outdoor usage.

“The new column surface-mount loudspeakers represent a natural evolution of the AcousticDesign Series tool kit,” says Travis Nie, QSC product manager for Installed Loudspeakers. “For those environments that need a narrow vertical pattern such as large, high-ceiling spaces, these new loudspeakers help to improve intelligibility in reverberant spaces while offering the same consistency and outstanding performance of the AcousticDesign Series.”

QSC will debut the new column surface-mount loudspeakers in its demo room at InfoComm 2017. Visitors can embark on a listening tour of QSC loudspeakers including the AcousticDesign Series and AcousticCoverage Series, CXD-Q Series and SPA Series amplifiers, and the new K.2 Series powered loudspeakers.
