At the upcoming InfoComm 2022 show at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Powersoft announced that it will be showcasing the capabilities of its Dynamic Music Distribution (DMD) technology as well as its haptic feedback technology Mover at its booth (#W2961).

DMD will be visually demonstrated across three walls of the booth, where visitors will have the opportunity to understand how to dynamically route music and other signal sources between different zones, across multiple amplifiers, all independently of source location and without the need for a centralized DSP.

Powersoft Mezzo, WM Touch and a SYS Control App will be arranged on the walls alongside a series of inlayed low-power loudspeaker drivers. There will be audio streaming from the loudspeakers on the walls so that people can interact with it and understand more about how the concept works.

“We are looking to demystify something that is perceived as complex but is really accessible for everybody to use and understand,” says Tom Knesel, general manager at Powersoft US. “We will be walking visitors through the DMD ecosystem which enables the creation of highly customized and easy to use audio experiences – ideal for bars, hotels, fitness centres and other hospitality venues where sound is part of the overall customer experience.”

The Mover haptic feedback technology is a direct-drive/tactile transducer designed to create an enhanced immersive experience. It’s utilized for a variety of multi-technology experiences, including experiential installs, 4D cinemas, gaming chairs, within walls and underneath dance floors.

For InfoComm, Powersoft has partnered with content creators Blackbox Audio, which specifically curated spatial audio content that aligns with the low-end frequencies of Mover. James Dellas, partner at Blackbox Audio, was tasked with fabricating a responsive physical platform for the Mover drivers as well as creating dramatic audio and video content to showcase the system’s capabilities.

“Working with a combination of licensed media, client supplied clips, and original content, we created Dolby Atmos surround mixes and a custom stereo pair of SFX tracks to drive the Movers,” Dellas explains. “Some segments, such as the NASA footage, received a full custom score, specifically for this demo.”

Visitors will be able to step on to a modular platform that houses two Movers driven by a Duecanali 1604 DSP+D. Headphones will provided to make the experience more intimate and immersive on the show floor.
