Mesanovic Microphones has introduced the Model 2, a microphone outfitted with a 1.8-micron-thick, 2-inch-long ribbon at the heart of its design, suitable for use on vocals, guitar amps, drums, strings, brass, piano, and more.
A combination of custom designed resonator plates and a narrow ribbon motor gives the Model 2 an extended high-frequency response, while retaining classic ribbon midrange and a rich low end that reaches flat out to 20 Hz.
The Model 2 also includes a custom toroidal transformer from Samar Audio Design that provides low distortion, low noise, and exceptional high-frequency detail.
A slim body allows the mic to be used with most third-party shock mounts and allows for quick and easy set up.
The Model 2 is completely handcrafted in Detroit, MI, and comes with a lifetime warranty for the original owner. It ships with a padded plastic case, isolation mount, and protective pouch. It’s available for $649 (USD).
