LAVOCE Italiana has announced the launch of its first 1-inch-exit annular diaphragm compression drivers — the DN10.143 and DF10.143 — developed by optimizing the complex methodology of annular diaphragm design and adopting the company’s proprietary Next Generation development approach.
The optimized annular diaphragm in both driver models are stated to deliver higher sensitivity and extended low-frequency performance than dome diaphragm designs, in addition to presenting a lower distortion characteristic across the whole operating frequency range. This is further enhanced by the first break-up modes of the annular diaphragm exhibiting at a higher frequency. Both models carry an 1800 Hz recommended crossover point.
The DN10.143 has a neodymium magnet motor structure and stated 35-watt AES power rating, 110 dB sensitivity and a frequency range of 1200 Hz to 20 kHz. It incorporates a 1.4-inch edgewound copper-clad aluminium voice coil as well as a one-piece high temperature polymer annular diaphragm and surround, Diameter is 71 mm and weight is 0.5 kg.
The DF10.143 has a ferrite magnet motor structure and stated 35-watt AES power rating, 107.5dB sensitivity and a frequency range of 1200Hz to 20 kHz. Utilizing the same 1.4” edgewound copper-clad aluminium voice coil and one-piece high temperature polymer annular diaphragm and surround, it offers similar benefits as DN10.143 but with a price advantage.
