Germany-based AIR Music Technology has announced AIR Sprite, a new multi-effects processor plugin designed to offer a modern take on the studio hardware staples of the 1980s and 90s.

The multi-effects processor provides a wide range of unique sounds, with the user interface equipped with a macros page for quick control of key parameters. Also onboard are ready-to-use presets that are organized into categories.

A distortion section offers nine distortion models with smoothing, high/low-pass filtering and mix control. Two modulation slots with eight classic modulation types supply a choice of flutter, wow, tremolo and auto-pan in one slot, with rate, drift, stereo and depth controls as appropriate. In the second slot that’s a choice of chorus, multi-chorus, phaser and flanger with rate, depth, feedback, depth and mix controls as appropriate.

There’s also a dedicated delay and reverb section, with the BPM syncable delay engine supplying single, dual and cross modes as well as independent left and right time controls, feedback level and 24 feedback setups, width and mix control. Meanwhile, the reverb section offers eight distinct room characters, pre-delay, damp, time and volume controls.

A pitch-shifter has adjustable depth, assignable mix target, interval and algorithm, and the EQ section supplies high/low-cut and shelving controls. The compressor section provides assignable routing, attack, release and depth controls. There are also width and balance controls along with aedicated output EQ section providing 31 character presets plus a manual mode for detailed shaping of low, mid and high-frequency content.

And envelope follower offers automatic control of delay feedback and delay and reverb mix based on incoming audio levels. And, there are final width, gain and limiter controls.

AIR Sprite available in MacOS formats that include AU, VST, VST3, and AAX as well as Windows formats of VST, VST3 and AAX. The new plugin is available now priced at $39.99 until August 14, at which time the price goes to $79.99. Go here to download a free 14-day demo.
