L-Acoustics KARA System Delivered To Rat Sound

Rat Sound plans to use KARA in an under-hang configuration for the K1 and as a complete standalone system for smaller venues and shows.

L-Acoustics has announced that Rat Sound Systems, Inc. has now taken delivery of 18 small-format KARA line source elements.

“As we move further into the new technologies and capabilities offered by our L-Acoustics’ LA8-powered K1 system, we’ve chosen to add the latest compact line array to complement it,” said Jon Monson, Rat Sound’s head of touring.

“We plan to use KARA in two distinct ways: in an under-hang configuration for K1, and as a complete standalone system for smaller venues and shows.”

Rat Sound’s team credits KARA for delivering improvements to directivity control in the horizontal plane, transducer resources for increased operating bandwidth and coherence, vertical coverage capability, and choice of operation modes to accommodate various LF contour requirements.

“We are excited to be building out our L-Acoustics K1 inventory with the latest and greatest product,” said Dave Rat, president of Rat Sound.

“2010 was a very successful year for us with tours and shows like Blink-182, the Coachella and Stagecoach festivals, Pearl Jam and Jack Johnson all being extremely happy with K1. KARA will only add to that excitement.”
