The new Kramer Electronics WP−789R is a long−reach HDBaseT wall−plate receiver for 4K@60Hz (4:2:0) HDMI and HDCP 2.2 signals over twisted pair. It converts the transmitted HDBaseT signal into an HDMI signal.

The wall-plate extends video signals up to 130 feet (40 meters) over Kramer shielded twisted pair cables at 4K@60Hz (4:2:0) 24bpp video resolution and is stated to provide further reach at lower HD video resolutions.

The WP-789R can be powered through PoE (Power over Ethernet) over the twisted pair cable. The wall-plate auto–senses the extension line PoE status and accepts power from a remote PoE provider such as a PoE matrix, with the option of operating directly with the supplied power adapter.

The WP-789R is designed for in–wall deployment behind a wall–mounted flat panel display with a minimum installation depth, especially when connected using a Kramer right–angle HDMI cable. Kramer’s WP-789 also supports HDCP 2.2, deep color, x.v.Color, lip sync, HDMI uncompressed audio channels, Dolby TrueHD, DTS–HD, 2K, 4K, and 3D as specified in HDMI 2.0.

The WP-789R is intended for wall–mounted display installations in visitor centers, museums, auditoriums and boardrooms and any display deployments with limited space for receiver installation. It is currently shipping in the U.S. and carries a list price of $395.
