JBL Professional Introduces EON ONE MK2 Column PA

Rechargable battery-powered system equipped with array of 2-inch tweeters and a 10-inch woofer joined by a built-in mixer, Lexicon and dbx DSP, Bluetooth 5.0, app control and more.

JBL Professional has announced the introduction of the new EON ONE MK2 battery-powered column PA that’s equipped with a C-shaped array of eight 2-inch tweeters working in combination with a 10-inch woofer, joined by a five-channel digital mixer, Lexicon and dbx DSP, Bluetooth 5.0 functions, app control and a rechargeable battery system in a package that weighs 42.5 pounds.

“We designed the EON ONE MK2 to meet the needs of a huge range of users,” says Brandon Knudsen, loudspeaker product manager, HARMAN Professional Solutions. “It’s ideal for anyone from buskers seeking pro-grade sound without AC power, to educators and hospitality providers who want fast setup and ease of use, to houses of worship and rental companies who need portable solutions for indoor and outdoor applications. You get all of this fidelity and functionality in a system that won’t break the bank, or your back.”

The EON ONE MK2 is stated to provide even response down to 37 Hz. The C-shaped array is designed to deliver wide horizontal dispersion and deep vertical throw for enhanced coverage throughout the listening space.

An onboard 1,500-watt (peak) amplifier powers the transducers, with proprietary Variable Power Performance technology is designed to automatically optimize performance for either AC or battery power, providing 4 dB of extra headroom when connected to AC power. A triple-tier interface inside of a full color LCD display lets users choose beginner, intermediate or advanced control.

Lexicon effects include reverb, chorus, delay and more, in addition to a full suite of dbx DriveRack technology, including AFS (Automatic Feedback Suppression), parametric EQs, limiters, delays and SubSynth. User-configurable presets and onboard hardware EQ with three fixed knobs are intended to help facilitate faster optimization.

In addition, Soundcraft Easy Ducking lowers background music volume when speech is detected. The battery, located in the column, has a stated six-hour performance time before needing to be recharged.

The five-channel digital mixer provides three Neutrik XLR combo jacks, one Hi-Z input and a 1/4-inch balanced passthrough with independent volume control and speaker delay. Two channels of 48-volt phantom power are also included for support of condenser microphones. The system can be controlled by the new JBL Pro Connect app, which provides remote access via Bluetooth 5.0 to every function and preset from a phone or tablet for up to 10 units.

The new EON ONE MK2 is designed to be carried with one hand, with an ergonomic handle that’s engineered for comfort. The system is encased in a durable polypropylene shell. As with every JBL loudspeaker, the EON ONE MK2 undergoes 100 hours of stress testing prior to shipping.
