At the 2018 Prolight + Sound show, FaitalPRO has introduced the new 6PR160, a 6-inch midrange loudspeaker driver with a neodymium magnetic structure.
“The 6PR160 was created solely for the range of voice reproduction, where it plays an important role,” states Flavio Naggi, commercial director of FaitalPRO. “It has remarkable weight characteristics, given the neodymium magnet structure and the aluminum basket. It is a midrange of the highest level, both for tonal characteristics and performance.”
Equipped with a demodulation ring designed to reduce distortion and refine tonal quality, the 6PR160 is stated as able to generate wide angular dispersion and withstand maximum power of 240 watts (120 watts continuous) with 95 dB sensitivity.
It includes a cloth edge cone, a 37 mm coil, magnet assembly composed of a neodymium ring, and a top-quality voice coil. Frequency response is stated as 80 Hz to 8 kHz.
“The 6PR160 offers an eclectic character that is suitable for many applications, and is easily suited for multi-purpose enclosures for sound reinforcement,” Naggi concludes. “It will be excellent in medium and small line arrays, where it usually covers the central position, or in 3-way systems where it alone takes care of the entire mid-frequency range.”
