CODA Audio has announced the release of the LINUS6.4-iD, a new four-channel DSP networkable power amplifier for installation applications that’s the first unit produced by the company’s recently created amplifier engineering team, and it’s on display at the 2024 ISE Show in Spain at Barcelona Fira Gran Via at booth 7C800 and demo room 8E4.
It’s the first part of the company’s roadmap towards a new LINUS DSP amplifier platform, using its own proprietary Class D amplifier technology. The LINUS6.4-iD drives the vast majority of CODA’s family of loudspeakers with the exception of line arrays and sensor-controlled subwoofers, and can be controlled by LINUS Control the provides network control and monitoring over Ethernet. It can also be controlled via the LINUS App from a mobile device using its built-in Wi-Fi hotspot.
Housed in a 1RU package, each of of unit’s four channels are stated to provide up to1500 watts of audio power. Class D discrete power stages with DC-coupled DACs, together with a SMPS with PFC, helps to optimize power density and minimal thermal dissipation. The PCB layout design integrates DSP, four amplifiers, and SMPS on a single PCB.
LINUS6.4-iD inputs are selectable, enabling users to choose between analog, LiNET, and Dante, and they route to any of the four outputs via the input matrix. The DSP processor enables the integration of audio algorithms that include phase linear DS-FIR filters, plus look-ahead and frequency-dependent limiters.
