Celestion Launching New Ten Squared Low-Frequency Driver Series At 2024 ISE Show

Flagship 24-inch TSQ2460 and four additional models resulting from a specialist development program at the company's UK R&D facility designed for subwoofers and multi-way loudspeakers and line arrays.
Celestion has announced the launch of the new Ten Squared Series of low-frequency drivers and the new units will be highlighted at the upcoming 2024 ISE Show in Barcelona.

Celestion, which is currently celebrating its 100th anniversary, has announced the lauch of the new Ten Squared (Ten2) Series of low-frequency drivers for applications in subwoofers as well as multi-way loudspeakers and line arrays, and they’ll be on display at the 2024 ISE Show in Spain at the Barcelona Fira Gran Via at booth 7L700.

The new Ten2 Series is born out of a specialist development program at Celestion’s UK-based R&D facility, with all five models incorporating an aluminum frame and neodymium magnets. The line includes the flagship 24-inch TSQ2460, 21-inch TSQ2145, 18-inch TSQ1845, 15-inch TSQ1535, and 12-inch TSQ1230.

Ten2 drivers are assembled on a new robotic production line at the company’s manufacturing facility. Constant airflow through proprietary Precision Tuned Venting (PTV) is designed to facilitate efficient cooling around the magnet assembly and voice coils. The cooling potential is further optimized through custom coil winding that utilizes a hybrid multilayer, inside/outside methodology. PTV and the coil structure combine for significant reduction of power compression and thermal stress to help maximize product lifespan and performance longevity.

The TSQ2460 has a stated continuous power rating of 4800 watts (estimated continuous) due to the cooling offered by the PTV system together with a proprietary voice coil outfitted with advanced heat resistant adhesives. Ten Squared Series Reconfigured Magnet Assembly is designed to allow greater cone excursion and a higher Xprotection level. The driver’s motor strength and mechanical compliance reach their defined Xprotection limit at practically the same point to help achieve low0distortion performance, even during high excursion. This capability is complemented by a unique Polysiloxane Laminated Dual Suspension design intended to enable the driver’s suspension system to work much harder without losing stiffness, providing better coil control and reduced likelihood of DC shift while simultaneously increasing speaker longevity.

Ten2 drivers incorporate laser-cauterized holes in the suspension to reduce whipping to enhance durability and logevity. They also include protections against the elements through solvent application on the loudspeaker cone to protect against water and humidity.

“The Ten Squared Series reflects Celestion’s unwavering commitment to excellence over the last one hundred years. Not satisfied to rest on our laurels, these drivers redefine the standards of performance and durability, setting a new benchmark for professional low-frequency audio,” states Ken Weller, Celestion head of marketing. “It’s a testament to our dedication to delivering superior audio solutions for the most demanding sound reinforcement applications, today and for years to come.”
