HARMAN Professional Solutions has announced the debut of new BSS Soundweb OMNI Series open architecture digital signal processors that are outfitted with I/O expanders, Dante/AES67 networked audio, an onboard scripting developed by AMX, and a library of processing objects that include media playback, AEC, VoIP, and more. The new series on display at the 2024 ISE Show in Spain at the Barcelona Fira Gran Via at booth 3F300.
The platform is managed through AVX Architect and AVX Control, a new software suite designed to to support the latest installed products from HARMAN Professional starting with BSS Soundweb OMNI. The processing platform provides the option of centralized or distributed DSP with support for both 48 kHz and 96 kHz processing.
Soundweb OMNI includes two flagship processing devices, the 512p and 256p, that deliver up to 512 x 512 Dante/AES67 channel counts at 96 kHz. Both I/O expansion devices, the 32e and 16e, have I/O ports that are “format configurable” as either analog or stereo AES3 digital. In addition, certain audio I/O ports and all GPIO ports are “direction configurable” as either inputs or outputs, managed through software on an individual port basis.
AVX Architect is a desktop software app for system diagramming, device configuration, network management, and custom UI design. It allows users to add an unlimited number of processors and expanders to a single project file while still benefitting from the simplicity of a single canvas for device configuration.
AVX Control is a lightweight software app that provides access to custom UIs for controlling and monitoring devices across platforms that include Windows, iOS, Android, and AMX Varia touch panels. These custom UIs work not only with Soundweb OMNI devices, but also Crown DCi amplifiers and previous generation Soundweb London devices due to protocol-bridging technology developed by AMX.
