Belgian loudspeaker manufacturer Audiofocus has announced new passive versions of two of its subwoofers, including the C210S dual-vented band-pass model and the C15LS element of the company’s Carys column PA system.
The company states that the new passive models have been developed in response to requests from customers who want to use the subs in conjunction with recently released Audiofocus A series rack-mount amplifiers. Both are also still available as active versions.
The C210S houses a pair of 10-inch neodymium transducers in a low-profile cabinet and was created to accompany the company’s compact Cyris CX6 live and installation loudspeakers. The C15LS employs a single 15-inch transducer with proprietary Tetracoil technology, locking into position beneath the Carys C6 column loudspeaker.
“As soon as we revealed our new amplifiers at ISE 2023, we received numerous messages asking for passive subs for Cyris and Carys, primarily as a cost-effective option for leisure and hospitality venues,” explains Audiofocus CEO Ann Leroy. “One advantage of building all our loudspeakers here in Belgium is our ability to respond rapidly to this type of feedback and deliver the solutions our customers need.”
