Audio-Technica Expands SpectraPulse With MTU201 Wireless Desk Stand Transmitter

Audio-Technica expands its award-winning SpectraPulse Ultra Wideband (UWB) wireless microphone system with the mtu201 XLR Desk Stand Transmitter.

The mtu201 is optimized to work with any of Audio-Technica’s 29 Engineered Sound®; gooseneck microphones with 3-pin XLRM-type output, ideal for such applications as podiums, boardroom tables and other situations where a gooseneck is preferred over a boundary-type mic.

The mtu201 provides phantom power to the microphone and features a programmable touch-sensitive switch (for push-to-talk, push-to-mute or toggle operation) and 9-hour rechargeable battery life.

A completely new application of UWB technology, SpectraPulse bypasses the increasingly congested RF environment to deliver clear, intelligible, secure audio without the performance and setup issues associated with conventional wireless systems.

The mtu201 XLR Desk Stand Transmitter has already been part of a high-profile event, as it was paired with A-T’s ES935ML Engineered Sound gooseneck microphone at the third 2008 presidential debate, televised live October 15 from Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY.

The mtu201 was mounted within the conversation table in front of each candidate to pick up their audio and transmit it securely, via patented UWB technology, with no interference.

Audio-Technica’s mtu201 XLR Desk Stand Transmitter is available in December 2008 with a U.S. MSRP of $1,300.
