Andrea Bocelli Performs Live With Support From 1 SOUND

Distributor Mods Art provides performer's mix engineer, David Barbagli, with Cannon C8 coaxial loudspeakers to serve as floor monitors at private performance in Italy.

At a recent private performance in Italy, Mods Art, the 1 SOUND distributor for the country, worked with Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli’s audio team to provide support that included supplying the company’s new Cannon C8 coaxial loudspeakers as floor monitors.

David Barbagli, currently serving as the front of house and monitor engineer for Bocelli as well as Placido Domingo and José Carreras, chose the Cannon C8 coaxials for the application. C8s also provided monitoring for pianist Carlo Bernini, flutist Andrea Griminelli, and singer Ilaria Della Bidia. The audio team utilized the Cannon C-Clamp accessory to aim the loudspeakers.

The 8-inch coaxial model also has a compression driver and a proprietary high-frequency element that are housed in a compact enclosure. The C8 also incorporates a passive radiator in the rear to help extend response down to 55 Hz.

“As a permanent part of Andrea Bocelli’s audio engineer international team, I’ve had the chance to use a lot of different sound gear worldwide, with excellent results,” Barbagli says. “But due to my experience with classic orchestras and opera singers, I am always pursuing perfection and I was happy to try the new 1 SOUND C8 in monitor configuration for Andrea. I have obtained an over-expected result. The Cannon C8’s natural reproduction of the highs is amazing, as well as the bass deepness, so natural and not colored with electronic artifacts. For sure, I will try to use more 1 SOUND products in the future.”
