AKG’s New Perception Live Series Of Microphones Debuts At 2010 NAMM Show

AKG‘s new Perception Live Series of microphones provide a balanced output on a 3-pin male XLR connector with the P2, P4, P3S, and the P5 series of microphones, and can be used as a solution for any vocal or instrument application, for both live and recorded sound.

The P2, P4, and P3S are all dynamic instrument microphones that come with a cardioid polar pattern and carrying case, with the P2 being suited for any kick drum, bass amp or wind instrument. The P4 has a special H 440 bracket case and can be used for toms, percussion, guitar amps and wind instruments, while the P3S comes with a special SA 45 stand adapter and is primarily suited for instruments and backing vocals.

“The Perception Series is AKG’s most comprehensive microphone line to date,” says Joseph Wagoner, AKG’s Product Manager for Tour and Installed Sound. “With the updated Perception Live Series of microphone, AKG is providing the musical instrument industry with an affordable solution for any recording or live sound application.”

In addition to the P2, P4, and P3S, the Perception Live Series also includes the super-cardioid polar pattern P5 and comes complete with a carrying case and an SA 45 Stand adapter. The P5 provides an unparalleled level of versatility and sonic integrity that leave it perfectly suited to handle any and all reproduction of solo vocals.

“Not only is the Perception Live series the perfect answer for all live/onstage applications, but it can also be used for any recording as well,” continues Wagoner. “For on stage performances, the Perception Live microphone features an appealing and scratch resistant finish, high maximum SPL capability and delivers a powerful sound for any venue.”
