At the upcoming ISE 2023 show in Barcelona (January 31-February 3), 1 SOUND will be premiering the new Cannon C8, the latest addition to the company’s Cannon Series of coaxial loudspeakers designed for a range of professional applications.
Cannon C8 incorporates an 8-inch driver with a coaxially mounted 1-inch silk dome high-frequency element joined by a 7-inch rear-facing passive radiator specifically tuned to extend bass frequencies. In addition, the silk dome driver is designed to enable higher sound pressure levels and overall improved sonic quality while staying cooler, enhancing consistency and durability.
Stated frequency bandwidth of the C8 is 55 Hz to 18 kHz, with 90- by 60-degree dispersion (HxV) and maximum SPL of 120 dB. Also onboard are two Speakon NL4 connectors as well as a 2-circuit switch allowing for a choice of two mixes with a 4-wire cable. A version (C8i) with screw terminal block connectors is also offered.
The C8 measures 10 inches wide and tall with a weight of 12 pounds, and is both IP55 indoor/outdoor rated and salt water resistant. The Finland birch ply cabinet, which includes four M6 flypoints, is offered in black and white as standard, with custom colors and wood finishes also available. Accessories that are offered include a C-Clamp (wall, truss, mic stand, ceiling mounting), universal mounting plate, pole mount adaptor and L-Bracket.
