Yamaha PM5D-EX System The Choice Of Marc Anthony Tour

The AVS Production Group selected the PM5D-EX for its functionality and i/o capacity.

Marc Anthony recently completed the U.S. leg of a tour in support of his latest album of Spanish ballads, “Iconos” released in 2010.

Produced by Anthony and Julio Reyes, “Iconos” includes songs by the singer’s favorite balladeers such as Juan Gabriel, Jose Jose, Roberto Carlos and Jose Luis Perales.

The U.S. tour began in New York City at Madison Square Garden and wrapped up in Chicago at the Allstate Arena.

AVS Production Group (Bronx, NY) was hired as the production company. This is the second Marc Anthony tour the sound company, which was started by Abe Viera, Sr. over 28 years ago, has supported.

Abe Viera, Jr. was hired as Anthony’s production manager for the U.S. leg of the tour.

A Yamaha PM5D-EX digital mixing system was used for monitors on all of the show dates.

“We decided to purchase the PM5D-EX because we were happy with the functionality of the PM5D-RH, but were running into some problems on the amount of inputs we had,” said Viera, Jr.

Anthony’s band consists of 16 regular band members with the addition of 10 string members for this tour.

“The PM5D-EX System using the Yamaha DSP5D Expander was a quick, affordable, and compact solution that provided more channels for use with the addition of the strings section.”

The entire band was on IEM’s with the string section using wedges. Eric ‘Pyle’ Ramey mixes monitors for Marc Anthony.
