Universal Audio has introduced UAD Sound City Studios, a new plugin emulation of Van Nuys, CA-based Sound City Studios, which served as the recording facility for more than 100 gold and platinum records since its opening in 1969, including records from Nirvana, Metallica, Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty, Rage Against the Machine, and more.
UAD Sound City Studios is designed to deliver every aspect of this creative space, including its room, microphones, analog gear and mixing console. Users can dial in sounds by choosing their source and selecting from presets based on time‑honed room and mic combinations. Using Dynamic Room Modeling technology, they can move classic condenser and ribbon mics in real-time for added authenticity.
