TransAudio Group To Launch Subwoofer Pros Brand At Winter NAMM

New company will present the first two products, STUDIO 12 and STUDIO 18 subwoofers in Anaheim this month.

At Winter NAMM (January 21 – 24, Anaheim, California), TransAudio Group will introduce a new brand, Subwoofer Pros to provide subwoofers for critical recording and mixing environments.

Subwoofer Pros’ first two products, STUDIO 12 and STUDIO 18 use a 400W integrated amplifier to deliver precise linear performance down to 8Hz at SPLs of 105dB and 113dB, respectively.

A comprehensive set of inputs, outputs, and bass management protocols allow both subs to integrate with a range of existing professional monitoring setups.

“Because no other company was building subwoofers with the performance and feature set needed in high-end music and film control rooms, we approached a leading expert in subwoofer technology – Bag End Modular Sound – to see if we could fill that gap,” said Brad Lunde, founder and president of TransAudio Group.

“Together, we specified performance targets, and Bag End engineers used their proprietary INFRA technology to meet those very high targets while still keeping the units small enough to work in tight control room environments. Subwoofer Pros provides an accessible way for professionals to get honest, translatable, ultra-low bass monitoring for their near-field or mid-field monitoring systems.”

Subwoofer Pros’ STUDIO 12 and STUDIO 18 use sealed-box, front-firing twelve-inch and eighteen-inch high-excursion, low-frequency drivers, respectively. Both include identical, flexible input methods, including a dedicated LFE input, a six input panel for 5.1 surround programs to either sum all of the inputs to a single sub output or to have channel-dedicated subwoofers.

Five line-level, high-pass-filtered outputs allow output to all five surround monitors using Subwoofer Pros’ comprehensive bass management. A line-level INFRA output allows additional “slave” subs to be connected for increased SPL or improved room behavior. A Dynamic Filter protection system maintains undistorted bass regardless of the input level without using compression.

Subwoofer Pros will soon release a line of subwoofer support electronics that will make its products even easier to integrate into high-end mixing system. For example, a universal stereo sub mute pedal will make it easy for engineers to A/B their work with and without subwoofers engaged.

MSRPs: STUDIO SUB 12 – $2,450.00 • STUDIO SUB 18 – $2,750.00
