The Curtain Of The Coccia Theater In Italy Rises On The Adamson Fletcher Machine

Two performances of a unique musical project by the CM Orchestra Rhythms & Drums at the classic theater in Novara supported by recently released immersive audio processor working with S7 compact line arrays.

Two concerts in late December at the Coccia Theater in Novara, Italy presenting a musical project written and directed by Claudio Mazzucchelli and interpreted by the 50-piece CM Orchestra Rhythms & Drums was supported by a sound design implementing the recently introduced Adamson Fletcher Machine immersive and spatialization processor.

Mazzucchelli, who’s also the co-founder of the orchestra, explains, “With the CM Orchestra we looked for an audio system that was capable of interpreting the skill of each individual musician adding the ensemble quality of the whole orchestra and reproducing it to the audience.”

Five Adamson S7 compact line arrays worked with the Fletcher Machine to deliver coverage in the multi-level, horseshoe-shaped theater that offers seating for more than 900. The processor offers a variety of spatialization tools relying on a new development where the object placement is based on both amplitude and time localization, designed to provide listeners with a more direct connection to the music.

“With the use of this system, the individual audience member listens to what I have heard, in an extraordinary way, immersed in the musicians, receiving their individual music,” says Mazzucchelli, adding that the resulting sound was “direct, immediate, without filters, without delays and without mental fatigue.”

The concerts, organized by the CM Orchestra in collaboration with MG Service and Audiosales Entertainment Solutions, were also supported by lighting design born from the technical and artistic collaboration between Mazzucchelli, Nicolò Damiani (lighting designer of MG Service) and Mattia Fasolo (lighting product specialist with Audiosales). More than 80 ClayPaky moving head fixtures were deployed to help create an original and enveloping atmosphere. The evening was further highlighted by special guest Tony Hadley, frontman of Spandau Ballet.
