Sommer Cable has announced the debut of SC-Mercator Cat.6a Proflex, a new network patch cable with a dual jacket construction that’s designed to combine flexibility with ruggedness for applications that include live and studio as well as industrial installations.
The cable with outer diameter of 8.7 mm (0.34 in) has a cold-flexible soft PVC jacket that is extruded in two stages. The outer jacket is applied like a tube to keep the wire pairs in a tight position even when in motion. The inner jacket serves as an extra protection against abrasion, pressure, or kinks to maintain flexibility and to help optimize reeling properties without loops and trip hazards. Users who find conventional Cat cables too stiff can now use this Proflex with its matte finish.
Most current standards are supported, such as 10GBaseT & 1GBaseT Ethernet, Dante, AVB, ACE, GigaACE, ARTNET, MA-Net, HDBaseT. New SC-Mercator Cat.6a Proflex is shipping now.
