Sennheiser & Extron Partnering On Conferencing Systems

New Extron DMP Plus audio DSP processors now work with Sennheiser TeamConnect Ceiling 2 microphone array.

Sennheiser has partnered with Extron Electronics, with the two offering audio conferencing system; specifically, combining certified control drivers for Sennheiser’s TeamConnect Ceiling 2 microphone array with the Extron DMP Plus series of audio digital processors.

The partnership with is intended to simplify integration of TeamConnect Ceiling 2, Sennheiser’s adaptive beamforming microphone array, with Extron’s DMP Plus processors.

The adaptive beamforming technology in the TeamConnect Ceiling 2 conferencing microphone is designed to automatically focus on the voices of speakers (talkers), allowing them to move about more freely during presentations. The aesthetics can blend in with modern conference rooms and offer discrete alternative where table-mounted systems are not suitable or possible.

The new control system drivers from Extron that have been developed and tested in partnership with Sennheiser. As part of the DMP Plus series audio DSPs, they support remote control of the microphone output level and mute state as well as LED sync with TeamConnect Ceiling 2, and distribute Sennheiser microphone audio to the conferencing system. The control drivers can be accessed via the Global Alliance section of the Sennheiser Business Communications website or directly from Extron.
