Sanken has announced that it will be demonstrating the full range of its Sanken Chromatic professional studio microphones, stated as offering response to 100 kHz for high-resolution recording, at the upcoming 2023 AES Show in New York at the Javits Center (booth 831).
Specific models to be highlighted are the CUX-100K and CO-100K, CU-51 and CU-55 studio cardioids, and dual-capsule condenser CU-44X and CU-41R mics. The CO-100K is an omnidirectional condenser with stated frequency response of 20 Hz to 100 kHz while the CUX-100K is based on the CO-100K design but with the ability to change modes with three settings: Cardioid (Far), Cardioid (Near) and Omni modes.
The CU-44X MK II is outfitted with a dual capsule design that’s well suited for low end and fast transients, and the CU-51 offers a new dual-capsule design by Sanken to provide a very defined cardioid pattern for vocals and a range of musical applications. The double capsule has one diaphragm that is optimized for low frequencies while the other one captures the higher frequencies.
The CU-55 is designed to deliver a vintage sound in a small, easy-to-position package that’s stated to have a flat response at 90 degrees off-axis. And, the CU-41R offers a special two-way transducer designed to provide a very flat frequency response and distortion-free performance.
