On Tuesday, August 31, Renkus-Heinz hosted technology showcase sessions as it celebrated the grand opening of the new Renkus-Heinz Theater, a 298-capacity performance venue housed in what was formerly a cinema at Notoriety, located in downtown Las Vegas at the intersection of Fremont Street and Las Vegas Boulevard.

Several key Renkus-Heinz staff members were on hand for the celebration and showcase, including Chief Technology Officer Ralph Heinz, VP of Strategic Development Graham Hendry, National Sales Manager Dudley McLaughlin, Western Sales Manager Garrison Parkin, Product Manager Brandon Heinz, and Sales & Marketing Coordinator Christine Thieroff. They were joined by Notoriety Owner Ken Henderson for the festivities at the new theater, one of several performance spaces at the facility that’s now equipped with a top-shelf house sound reinforcement system.

Numerous audio professionals were also in attendance, taking in three live new product and technology demonstrations originating on the venue’s main stage that were held in the run-up to the official grand opening.

Highlighted products included the latest models in the company’s new Iconyx Compact Series — the ICC 12/3-RD1, 24/3-RD1, 36/3-RD1 and 48/3-RD1 — all offering (Audinate) Dante audio-over-IP functionality as well as new control options with integration into Crestron’s remote control platform. Also showcased were the ICLive X Series, SA112 and SA28 subwoofers, CA121, CA82, and CA62 point source loudspeakers, and the brand new CA121M stage monitor.

McLaughlin led the procedings, with Ralph Heinz lending his expertise in explaining several of the company’s unique loudspeaker design concepts, including Co-Entrant Technology, Complex Conic Horns, Acoustic Source Multipliers and more. In addition to spoken word and a variety of full-range music presented during the demonstrations, attendees were also treated to a live performance by the band Red Penny Arcade (pictured below) that presented these concepts in reality.

“We’re excited to showcase our new and cutting-edge product series in person as the clarity and intelligibility we’ve innovated into our products over the past year is truly stunning,” says Parkin. “After more than a year of virtually attending events and shows, Renkus-Heinz is eager to work with integrators and venues to ensure they are providing the best experience for audiences. That starts with showcasing our technology to decision makers so they can fully understand the difference that Renkus-Heinz solutions provide.”
