Includes Grammy Pro Summits in Dallas and New Orleans as well as Grammy Pro Up Close & Personal in Atlanta

The Recording Academy Producers & Engineers Wing and local chapters are presenting a number of recording-related events this month (April 2016).

On Wednesday, April 6, the Texas chapter and the P&E Wing will host the Grammy Pro Studio Summit in Dallas from 3:30 to 8 pm (CDT). It will feature Grammy-winning engineer/mixer Tony Maserati (Black Eyed Peas, Mary J. Blige, Gwen Stefani) and Grammy-, Oscar- and Golden Globe-nominated producer Harvey Mason, Jr. (Whitney Houston, Jennifer Hudson, Beyoncé).

The Texas event will take place at the Altitude Ballroom at the W Hotel in downtown Dallas, where Maserati and Mason will share techniques, track samples, inspirations and thoughts on current industry hot topics, followed by a moderated audience Q&A. Rounding out the summit will be a panel led by P&E Wing managing director Maureen Droney that will address key music advocacy issues that affect producers and engineers.

Capping the day will be a networking mixer and complimentary appetizers. This event is open to Recording Academy members and invited music industry professionals only. Admission is free for Recording Academy members, and members receive priority seating. Invited non-members are $50. RSVP here.

On Thursday, April 7, the Atlanta chapter and the P&E Wing will host Grammy Pro Up Close & Personal with Grammy-nominated producer Butch Walker (Pink, Katy Perry, Weezer) and Grammy-winning producer Dave Cobb (Shooter Jennings, Sturgill Simpson, Chris Stapleton). The evening will include a private cocktail and dinner reception as well as an on-stage conversation between these two sought-after recording industry VIPs. The event will begin promptly at 7 p.m., at the W Hotel, Atlanta-Buckhead. RSVP here.

And on Tuesday, April 26, the Memphis chapter and the P&E Wing will present another Grammy Pro Studio Summit at Esplanade Studios in New Orleans. The Summit will feature a keynote conversation with Grammy-winning recording engineer Geoff Emerick (The Beatles, America, Cheap Trick, Elvis Costello), panel discussions on industry hot topics, and product demonstrations from a variety of gear manufacturers.

Grammy-winning recording engineer Elliot Scheiner will also serve as event chair and a featured speaker, including demonstrations of the ELS studio premium audio system developed by Scheiner. The day-long program will culminate with a reception featuring traditional New Orleans fare. RSVP here.

The following week, on April 30, Emerick will also be making a special appearance at The Grammy Museum Mississippi. Location: 800 W Sunflower Rd., Cleveland, MS. He will be interviewed by Memphis chapter senior executive director Jon Hornyak.
