Pure Resonance Audio has announced the introduction of the new S6, a 6.5-inch 70-volt surface-mount loudspeaker designed for indoor and outdoor applications that include foreground and background music, paging, and general-purpose audio.
The S6 carries a water-resistant IP65 rating designed to ensure protection against direct contact with water and dust. A matching 180-degree mounting bracket is designed to facilitate quick installation on walls, under awnings, and overhangs.
The 6.5-inch woofer, two inches larger than the one in the company’s S5 for more robust low-frequency performance, has a polypropulene cone that provides low moisture absorption and UV resistance in addition to decreased distortion.
The woofer, which also has a rubber surround to further add durability, is joined by a 1-inch silk membrane driver. Stated full-range frequency response is 80 Hz to 16 kHz joined by an average sensitivity of 92 dB SPL.
