Outline Unveiling Mini-COM.P.A.S.S. iMode At 2010 PLASA

Outline will be unveiling the Mini-COM.P.A.S.S. iMode loudspeaker control technology at the upcoming 2010 PLASA Show in London (September 12-15).

This new technology features the latest generation of the Outline Mini-COM.P.A.S.S.line array modules outfitted with an ”embedded” computer, complete with web server and sophisticated network facilities, for control. Called “iMode” this continually evolving proprietary platform equips each enclosure with its own onboard “intelligence”.

The system is also able to send feedback to users, providing them information on its operating status, with an unprecedented level of precision, data quantity and quality.

It is similar in operation to a web site, which can be consulted and updated in every aspect (parameter) from anywhere in the world using a standard browser.

Everything runs on a Linux operating system, providing both stability and interoperability, as well as being ready to “interact” with modern digital consoles, smart phones and “intelligent” devices of the present and future.

For example, a modern digital console, with its digital inputs and the use of plug-ins, will be able to control all Mini-COM.P.A.S.S. iMode parameters. The system has everything onboard – no software, matrix, DSP, amplifier or any other device is required in the audio chain.

Key iMode features include FIR filters and IIR filters with a resolution of up to 64 bit, a delay time of up to 2 seconds for each channel (normally only possible with a matrix), as well as a twin dynamic processor (peak/RMS) to ensure reliability.
