NEXO Introduces New ID Series Compact Loudspeakers

Compact, flexible full-range ID24 loudspeaker offered in live, install, and "a la carte" customizable versions

The recent Prolight+Sound 2015 in Frankfurt provided the first look at the new NEXO ID (InSpace Definition) Series of loudspeakers, designed for a variety of portable and install applications.

At launch, the ID Series is comprised of the ID24 compact full-range loudspeaker and two low-profile subwoofers, the ID S110 (single 10-inch) and ID S210 (dual 10-inch).

The full-range ID24 incorporates twin 4-inch drivers in a V formation in combination with a compression driver offering two preset directivity options. A user-adjustable horn can be rotated easily, without the need for tools, via a switch on the rear panel to provide 60- or 120-degree HF coverage with the standard horn fitted. Because the ID24 can be mounted vertically or horizontally, this effectively gives the user four different directivity options in each cabinet.

The ID24 is offered in three versions: ID24i for installation, ID24t for touring and AV applications, and ID24c, an “a la carte” version that allows the user to custom-configure the loudspeaker to match precise requirements.

The ID24i, tailored to the fixed installation environment with its termination in captive cable for fast, secure connectivity with existing wiring, is available in black or white with a matching fabric grille. It comes with threaded holes for compatibility with NEXO and third-party mounting hardware. It is all-weather IP55 rated.

For AV and live music applications, the ID24t has a touring spec, outfitted with Speakon connectors and quick release rigging points for easy mounting, horizontally or vertically. The ID24t, also compatible with a range of NEXO and 3rd-party accessories, is available in black with a matching steel grille.

The unusual asymmetric shape of the ID24 cabinet further maximizes its possibilities. The module can be mounted horizontally or vertically, and, using the correct accessories, can be deployed as an under-balcony reinforcement module. In live performance situations, it can pole-mount or clip onto truss. A purpose-designed accessory allows it to be precisely angled for stage front fill applications. And, the ID24 can be used as a wedge monitor when stood upright in the horizontal plane.

The ID24 “a la carte” version offers a high level of customization to match precise requirements, including:

—Four different directivity options, all of which are reversible by rotating the horn
—Different mounting options
—Different colors, black, white or any RAL color
—Connectivity options, Speakon or captive cable
—Grille options: steel, fabric and foam

The ID S110 single-10 and S210 double-10 have a low-profile design that allows them to be easily installed discretely in a range of locations—within walls, staircases, under furniture, and more.

Sixteen (16) ID24 cabinets can be powered by a single NXAMP4x1, NEXO’s smallest powered TDController, which offers a host of features including “channel-by-channel” preset selection and remote monitoring using the NeMo app. EtherSound and Dante network compatibility is available as an option.
