Mojave Audio Introduces MA-D Cardioid Dynamic Microphone

Company's first handheld dynamic model, designed by Technical Grammy Award winner David Royer, engineered for vocals as well as a variety of other live and studio miking applications.

Mojave Audio has announced the introduction of the company’s first handheld dynamic microphone, the MA-D, engineered for vocals as well as a variety of other live and studio miking applications.

Designed by Technical Grammy Award winner David Royer, the MA-D is built with high-quality components and is intended to provide optimized full-frequency response and musicality. It’s available now for a U.S. MAP of $159.

In addition, it’s designed to provide tight off-axis rejection and includes an integrated pneumatic shock-mount and a built-in internal windscreenwith reduced handling noise and the ability to eliminate plosives. The MA-D includes a mic clip and a zippered bag.

“When we set out to create our first dynamic microphone, we wanted to avoid the harsh ‘presence peak’ common in a lot of well-known mics on the market and deliver a smoother-sounding alternative,” says Mojave Audio President Dusty Wakeman. “The MA-D has a rich, musical response that will make any vocalist happy, while working just as well on many other instruments in live miking situations. We’re proud to have a dynamic mic that we can put the Mojave name on.”
