The Midas PRO6 live audio system picked up the MIPA (Musikmesse International Press Award) for Live Mixing Desk at Prolight + Sound 2009.

MIPAs are presented to the best products released during the previous year as voted for by more than 100 international audio and music magazines.

The award was accepted by Midas and Klark Teknik international sales and marketing director David Cooper at a ceremony. The Digidesign D-Show Profile Mix Rack and Digico SD8 digital consoles were also finalists for the award. (Click here to see all MIPA nominees.)

The award reflects the success enjoyed by the PRO6 since its launch last August. Almost 200 have been sold worldwide, with systems used on acts including AC/DC, Metallica, Van Morrison, Jan Smit, the Pogues, Marillion, Snow Patrol, Benabar, Il Divo, Kasabian and Eddi Reader.

A total of six PRO6s were in attendance at Prolight + Sound 2009: on the EVI Germany and Mega Audio booths as well as handling daily live music programs on the outdoor Pro Stage and in the Agora tent.

.

“We’re delighted that the international audio press has recognized the Midas PRO6 as the leading product in its category,” says Cooper. “This is consistent with the countless engineers who won’t settle for anything else, having used Midas digital.”
